ARLC ReflectionZ: Alpha Alpha Omicron Zeta Chapter Breaks Down Their Time at ARLC
Sorors from all across the Awesome Atlantic Region made their way to Baltimore, Maryland to attend the 58th Atlantic Regional Leadership Conference (ARLC). Hailing from Philadelphia, the Alpha Alpha Omicron Zeta Chapter breaks down their ARLC experience:
WHAT DID WE LEARN?
Our sisterhood is strong and I am my Sisters’ Keeper. #OneZeta
Over 800 amazingly beautiful Sorors stepped foot on the Hilton Baltimore October 17-20 to conduct business and celebrate the 75th Diamond Anniversary of the Atlantic Region. It was heartwarming to witness everyone in Diamond White for the opening ceremony, experience Zeta love during Rededication and Necrology, be mesmerized at the region’s uniform during our white blazer day and party exceedingly with our undergraduates.
The Atlantic Region Leadership Conference has set the bar high, bringing to the sisterhood a call to action in Heart Health with health screenings and the introduction of a partnership with Girl Trek. Several Alpha Alpha Omicron Zeta chapter Sorors made the “Girl Trek” at 6:30 am on Saturday, October 19th, through the streets of Baltimore in support of heart health, led by our own chapter Soror Dr. Aliya Browne.
There was also a call to action on financial empowerment, with the region’s launch of the dFree partnership and the billion dollar pay down challenge. Our Sorors attended the workshop and stopped by the dFree table to share testimonies, and receive materials to start their dFree journey.
WHO DID WE MEET?
Graduate Sorors, Undergraduate Sorors and Amicae from all over the Region. Our chapter was blessed to meet a Soror who traveled from Connecticut alone. She is in her 3rd year of Law School and we demonstrated the true essence of sisterhood by ensuring she was never alone during the conference.
WHAT DID WE BUY?
Blazers, pins and shirts...Oh My! With so many options, it was hard to resist the abundance of Royal Blue and White Zeta paraphernalia. Finally, who could resist the pop-up shop hosted by our conference sponsor: Macy’s. They were there with an array of makeup, shoes, perfume and beautifully selected attire.
And finally, it was our pleasure to not only come to the conference but to serve the community with our donation of 254 personal care items for the Regional Z-HOPE Project – Dignity Period.
Thank you, Madam Regional Director, Conference Marshall and the planning committee on a job well done!”
